Governmental Affairs and Political Advocacy

Together with CUNA, MCUA monitors governmental, legislative (such as pending legislation) and political action issues that may affect the credit union industry.

In addition, Governmental Affairs also includes the pro-active political advocacy element.  Examples of political advocacy programs for credit unions include:
  • Grassroots political coordination
  • Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC)
  • Mississippi Credit Union Political Action Committee (MCUPAC)
  • Relationship development with legislative leaders
  • The Credit Union House in Washington, D.C.
  • Project Zip Code
