Consulting and Planning Services
With many years of credit union experience, the MCUA staff is always available to assist credit unions with technical and operational needs. Our consulting staff is available to affiliated credit unions on-site, by telephone, via email, or website. Researching, answering, and resolving your questions is our business.
 
Accounting, Training and Assistance
Our consultants can answer accounting questions and provide advice to help solve accounting problems. Additionally, we can direct to you to resources to train employees about accounting, daily operational matters, data processing, and other issues that are important to your credit union.
 
Regulatory Compliance
Our staff is constantly monitoring regulatory changes of all governmental entities (including NCUA, DBCF, IRS, and the Federal Reserve). MCUA provides complete compliance guidance, analysis, and interpretations pertaining to the numerous regulatory issues affecting credit unions.
 
Policy Development
Assistance is provided with the development of policies to comply with regulatory and operational requirements. An extensive library of sample policies is maintained, updated and available. New policies are developed as required or requested.
 
Business Plan Development
Our consultants can assist credit unions with the development of various levels of business plans through strategic business planning. Assistance can be given on-site or through a correspondent program depending on the individual credit union's preference.
 
Charter and Field of Membership Changes
Our consultants can provide credit unions with assistance and guidance when planning for charter and field-of-membership changes.
 
Staff, Management, and Volunteer Training
Customized training is available on topics such as: Understanding Financial Statements, Asset/Liability Management Concepts, Duties and Responsibilities of Board and Committees, Key Ratios and Spread Analysis, Understanding the NCUA Exam Report, and many others.
 
New Product/Service Analysis
Venturing into new territory is scary for anyone and our consultants offer guidance with decision-making and implementation for any new service. MCUA will assist with cost/benefit analysis, policy development, implementation procedures, and third party negotiations.
 
Handling Regulator/Examiner Findings
Our consultants can help you plan for resolving regulator and examiner findings. Because of their experience, our consultant understand what the examiners are expecting the credit union to accomplish. They can offer advice about handling a resolution and customize sample policies, procedures and guidelines to meet the needs of the credit union and the requirements of the regulator.
